American Council of Engineering Companies of South Dakota advances the business interests of the consulting engineering profession in South Dakota. As a Member Organization of American Council of Engineering Council (ACEC), ACEC/SD's mission is to enhance the public understanding and image of the consulting engineering profession, proactively represent the profession in public affairs and legislative issues and provide a forum for discussion and continued business education.

NEW YORK, Nov. 17—A just-released report by Polytechnic Institute of New York University reveals that New York State can achieve significant cost savings by using private sector engineers for the design of public projects. When compared to in-house design costs, outsourced design costs were found to be at least 14% lower, based on conservative assumptions.
